The entire Commitment to Change and Group Check-in sections are missing from each of the lessons. While I agree that one or two of the questions in these sections (FASTER Scale Score) were redundant to questions that appeared elsewhere, the rest of the questions–like forcing us to write down a commitment to change and share with our group members and then to have us actually write out how we did, are key to the accountability needed to get through Conquer successfully. These kinds of questions are too easily “pencil whipped” and then when someone doesn’t acheive sobriety, it becomes too easy for him to avoid and deny (its what we do!) his own lack of commitment.
